These are stories of my parents growing up during WWII and then escaping from Communist Yugoslavia in the 1950s to Italy and then to Canada.

My parents

are from a small island off the coast of Croatia (former Croatia). They grew up in neighbouring villages, but by foot, they were still quite a distance from each other.
